AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Important Notice for Authors

Before submitting your manuscript, please:

  1. Review our complete guidelines carefully
  2. Use our official manuscript template
  3. Be committed to completing the publication process once started

Quality Control:

  1. All submissions undergo plagiarism screening
  2. Manuscripts showing more than 25% similarity will not be accepted
  3. We cannot process withdrawal requests once the review process begins

We invest significant time and resources in each submission, including review, copyediting, and layout preparation. Your commitment to seeing the publication process through helps maintain the efficiency and quality of our journal.

LANGUAGE

The manuscript language is English. Make sure to proofread the manuscript writing before submission.

Although the Indonesian language is acceptable at the time of submission, the use of English is highly recommended to avoid delay throughout the manuscript evaluation process. If the Indonesian language is to be used, it should be translated into proofread English once accepted for publication.

Most importantly, make sure the writing is structured and comprehensive, with good cohesion and smooth transitions between ideas.

All submissions should demonstrate:

  • Clear and logical organization
  • Smooth transitions between ideas
  • Comprehensive content presentation
  • Professional language quality
  • Thorough proofreading

We accept the following types of scholarly contributions:

  • Original Research Articles: Presenting new findings and research outcomes ; Original Research Article (5000-10000 words, excluding references)
  • Review Articles: Synthesizing and analyzing existing literature
  • Opinion Articles: Offering expert perspectives on relevant topics
  • Book review: Analyzing specific contents and perspectives of authors

Structure and Format

Original research manuscripts should follow a clear empirical structure with comprehensive analysis and objective discussion. Your manuscript must meet these essential requirements:

Technical Specifications:

  • File Format: Microsoft Word documents only (.doc or .docx)
  • Layout: Single-column format
  • Length: Minimum 5,000 words for main content (excluding abstract, references, tables, and appendices)

Required Sections:

As a whole, the manuscript should contain these elements in the following order:

  • Manuscript category
  • Manuscript Title with a maximum of 10 (ten) words;
  • Authorship: Full name of all authors, Affiliation (Department/Division, Institution, Address, City, and Country), and Email and phone no. of the corresponding author;
  • Abstract;
  • Keywords (should be 4 – 6 words);
  • Main body (Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion);
  • Acknowledgments (as appropriate);
  • References; References should be in APA style constructed with Mendeley. Other specific requirements are stated in the template. Authors are requested to write the paper directly in the template file.

AUTHORSHIP

In alignment with our mission to strengthen the education and research network, JSSD does not accept manuscripts from a single author, as we believe collaborative contributions are integral to the advancement of interdisciplinary knowledge and scholarly exchange.

To foster diverse authorship in the journal, we require that at least one author be an international scholar affiliated with an institution outside of Indonesia.

All contributing authors must be listed in the correct order for publication, with their full names provided exactly as they should appear, including or excluding middle names or initials as required. Each author's affiliation must be accurately linked to their name, and only the corresponding author should supply a valid email address.

The criteria of authorship are as follows; Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content; final approval of the version to be published; Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
